Matt Medich is a Wisconsin School of Business student who was selected to participate in the Assistive Technology Challenge while taking the Weinert Center’s Technology Entrepreneurship (MHR 441) course. The Assistive Technology Challenge is a pitch competition presented by Destination Medical Center and the Mayo Clinic to facilitate greater independence for individuals with disabilities and the daily challenges they face.
Matt will be pitching his idea for a service-related app that assists elderly or less-abled individuals and their families with finding and scheduling in-home care providers that meet their respective needs. He describes the service as “a gig-economy business model (similar to that of Uber & Lyft) where users can easily schedule alternate providers, access reviews for both parties, knowing that all providers are vetted and undergo background checks.”
The Challenge includes $15,000 in prize money as well as a People’s Choice Award to be selected by online viewers. So tune in on June 2nd from 2:00-3:30 p.m. and vote for a Badger who’s working to make a difference.
