The Transcend Madison Innovation Competition, created by Transcend UW, is the campus’s first-ever student-led innovation competition. This event was made with one goal in mind: to bring students all across UW Madison together to demonstrate their novel ideas and creations. First and second place this year went to students associated with the Weinert Center!
The grand prize of $15,000 went to senior Jack Pawlik for his startup, Drip. Drip, Jack’s fourth startup, is a mobile ordering and rewards platform built for local coffee shops to offer their customers the same conveniences as bigger chains such as Starbucks. He won the last two Transcend Madison Innovation Competitions with two different startups (Lineleap and now Drip). Jack is a real estate and urban land economics major and graduated in May. He plans to continue working on both Drip and Cork Drinks, a membership platform to bars and restaurants.
The second place prize of $10,000 went to the All Brick Medical team for their flagship product, The ErgoSyringe. This medical device provides an ergonomic solution for performing syringe procedures in the healthcare industry. The All Brick Medical team was in the WAVE 2019 class. They are also a semi-finalist in the Governor’s Business Plan Contest.
The Weinert Center extends its congratulations to both teams for their great performance at the Transcend Innovation Competition!
