Generative artificial intelligence (AI) isn’t just a hot topic—it’s a rapidly changing and transformative technology that’s impacting how people communicate, learn, and do their jobs. Join the Wisconsin School of Business and the School of Computer, Data & Information Sciences at UW–Madison for Talking Tech in Chicago, an in-person event where panel experts will discuss AI’s impact on the future of work, and the evolving role of the tech professional. Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn and network with Badger alumni and students.
Hosted by the Wisconsin School of Business and the School of Computer, Data & Information Sciences at UW–Madison.

Speakers
Jay Laabs (BBA ’98) is the founder and chief executive officer of Spaulding Ridge, a global business-technology consultancy focused on cloud computing solutions. A noted technology and professional services entrepreneur, Laabs is also an early-stage investor and advisor to many Fortune 500 CFOs and CIOs.
Kelley Burke is Azure technical sales director for Microsoft’s West and Midwest regions. She has over 23 years of sales, strategy, and technical consulting experience in Microsoft’s Enterprise Software and Cloud Services business.
Blaine Hoak (PhD ’25) is a computer science PhD student at UW–Madison focusing on evaluating and advancing the security of machine learning models. Hoak’s research involves understanding, designing, and defending against sophisticated attacks that expose worst-case failures of machine learning models.
