French 285: Rebellious Women

In this new course we will explore how women from different regions from the Global South (with a specific focus on North and Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East) gain agency through literature, movies, comics, and songs, contesting different forms of domination, exclusion, and injustice, based on gender, race, class, and religion.

This course is taught in English and fulfills Humanities, L&S, and French undergrad major. The course schedule is M/W/F 1:20 pm to 2:10 pm. For any questions contact Prof. Nevine El Nossery elnossery@wisc.edu.
