Winter 2021

Greetings Alumni and Friends of the Weinert Center,

We have a wide range of interesting stories in this Winter’s newsletter. It starts with an interview of Professor Martin Ganco who recently completed his first year as the Academic Director to the Weinert Center. At first I thought that we must have done the calculation wrong since it seems that Martin has been in that role far longer but I think that is just the impression you get when someone starts just before a major pandemic. In any case it has been a pleasure working with him and he has been instrumental in helping the center ‘pivot’ and change to meet the unique environment of the last year. The newsletter also showcases how things have had to change such as the Distinguished Entrepreneurs Lunches going online, advisory board member Kay Plantes consulting practice and how one of our alumni is helping Royal Caribbean relaunch their cruise business. The newsletter also shows that even in a pandemic we continue to see our students and alumni launching new ventures. The topics we are teaching in the classrooms and other startup resources are being well utilized regardless of the situation.

We appreciate all of your support and hope you and your loved ones are doing well.
