About Martin

Martin Ganco is the Robert Pricer Chair in Enterprise Development and Professor in the Management and Human Resources department at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is also the Academic Director of the Weinert Center for Entrepreneurship and a principal in the Initiative for Studies in Transformational Entrepreneurship (INSITE Cluster Initiative). Martin’s research interests include strategic human capital, entrepreneurship, innovation, platforms, and complexity theory. Martin’s research focuses on how organizational and knowledge contexts shape entrepreneurship and innovation while emphasizing the role of human capital. Martin examines these questions in a number of settings including workers in high-technology firms, service industries and by studying career histories of scientists and engineers. He earned his PhD in Business Administration from the University of Illinois. He currently serves as a Senior Editor of Organization Science and previously served as an Associate Editor of Strategic Management Journal.
