James Laufenberg is a Senior Portfolio Manager for the State of Wisconsin Investment Board (SWIB), which is the investment manager for the Wisconsin Retirement System. Mr. Laufenberg is responsible for evaluating private commercial real estate opportunities, executing transaction processes, and supervising business plans. He implements institutional capital allocation strategies through separate account, joint venture, and commingled fund partnerships. Prior to joining SWIB in 2007, Mr. Laufenberg held positions at a real estate asset management advisor, a big four accounting firm, and an office developer. He has a bachelor’s degree in Real Estate and Finance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Master of Science in Finance from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Mr. Laufenberg is a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) and a member of NCREIF and PREA.
