Jim oversees strategy, investment origination, underwriting, and asset management for WHIREP, and is Co-Chair of the Investment Committee. Prior to joining WHIREP, Jim was a Senior Director at Wrightwood Capital in Chicago where he was responsible for originating, structuring, and closing equity and mezzanine debt investments in properties throughout the United States, and where he also supervised asset management teams responsible for portfolios of debt and equity investments in real estate. Previously, Jim was a Senior Investment Manager with Seattle-based Schnitzer Northwest LLC, where he was responsible for the development of office properties in the Seattle area. Prior to joining Schnitzer, he was responsible for the development of several mixed-use real estate projects in the Chicago metropolitan area for Chicago-based developers Levy Organization and Development Resources, Inc. Jim serves on the Board of Advisors of the James A. Graaskamp Center for Real Estate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and is a member of the Urban Land Institute. Jim holds a B.A. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Wisconsin, Madison and an M.B.A. from Loyola University of Chicago.
