On December 6th, members of the Real Estate Club visited the Fiserv Forum, home of the Milwaukee Bucks basketball team. A tour of the stadium was conducted by John Steinmiller, Executive Vice President of Operations for the Milwaukee Bucks. He discussed the development/entitlement process and timeline for constructing the Milwaukee Bucks stadium which was built in 2018. He also discussed with students the public and private financing that went into funding the construction of the stadium. Ted Kellner, a UW alumni, and Co-Owner of the Bucks, stopped by to speak to the real estate club as well.
The tour started by visiting the Bucks’ locker room, and then seeing their trophy room where a lot of owners and executives enjoy socializing. Students also got to step on the court, view box seats and VIP sections of the stadium, and visit the press room where players participate in interviews with news reporters after games. The tour concluded with a gathering with WREAA members at a local restaurant/bar where tables were set up with food and drinks for students and WREAA members to network.
