Saurabh Bhandari thrives on problem-solving, a passion that has defined his career journey from data science to product management. As an MBA (2021) student who was part of the Fellowship in Enterprise Development Program and took the WAVE course, Saurabh is passionate about helping companies thrive. Proven through his current role as a Senior Product Technology Manager at Google, Saurabh is driven to push the boundaries of entrepreneurship within the business industry.

Before joining Google, Saurabh focused on his analytical skills as a data scientist, working with major banks in the US and in Paris. “I used to be a data scientist, which meant that I had to understand business problems, contextualize them from the sense of data and then translate them into technical solutions,” he reflects. However, he soon realized that he had passion for businesses as a whole, emphasizing that while the world of data science was evolving his strengths were with understanding the business space better.
At Google, Saurabh works as a product technology manager helping with the innovation side of technology development and product strategy. “What I love most about my role is the problem-solving aspect,” Saurabh explains. “So much innovation keeps happening at such a rapid pace that the business is never stagnant. To truly keep evolving at the pace of the business, you need to stay in sync and continuously solve problems. You are not just addressing issues; you are actively searching for them.”

Now, Saurabh is looking forward to starting a new role at Intuit where he hopes to learn more and grow within the technology industry. He states: “I think from what this job role offered me was the ability to learned how one can technically execute in a problem space which is to understand the problem and solve it. However, there are more dimensions that I have yet to explore.”
In a world of rapid change, Saurabh points out how passion is incredibly important in the roles you choose. “I try to find opportunities that will give my life meaning and purpose and make my vocation,” Saurabh says, encouraging students on campus to do the same. As a strong advocate of growth, Saurabh gives a special shout out to his time in the MBA program as a cornerstone in his journey. “If you are starting an MBA program or going to graduate school, take the WAVE course. It should be the capstone project in my opinion of your business degree. It brings every facet of what you have learned over the years together in a way that you are ready to go and create value in the world.”
Congratulations to Saurabh for his new role at Intuit and for being one of the many alumni to bring a light to entrepreneurship!
