This fall marked UW’s official return to campus, in-person instruction, and Badger sports. Along with these returns towards normalcy, the Weinert Center also saw a return to in-person gatherings for core events like PartnerUp!, Winning Ways, Fellowship gatherings, and field trips.
The Distinguished Entrepreneurs Lunch (DEL) also returned to an in-person event, but has kept hybrid aspects available for speakers who were unable to travel to Madison. This added flexibility has enabled the Weinert Center to maintain the geographic diversity of our speakers that we saw last year. This fall half of our featured speakers were from out of state. They traveled (physically and virtually) from Washington State, California, North Carolina, and Minnesota to speak and connect with our students. These entrepreneurs covered a smorgasbord of industries and topics; ice cream, pizza, chocolate, innovative mask design, health and wellness, venture capital, photography, building products, and non-profits. This list does not even cover the previous experiences many of the entrepreneurs discussed during their talks! The diversity of thoughts, professions, industries, and individuals has been awe-inspiring to see. We all cannot wait for DEL to return in the Spring semester.
We thank our long-time sponsor Neider & Boucher, S.C. and co-founder, Badger alum, and Weinert Center Board member Joe Boucher for graciously providing financial support in offering this event that makes a tremendous impact in our student lives.
