Six new faculty members across five departments will join the Wisconsin School of Business at the University of Wisconsin–Madison this fall.
“The strength of any school is its faculty and we are thrilled to have six accomplished colleagues join the Wisconsin School of Business,” says Terry Warfield, senior associate dean for faculty and research. “We look forward to our new colleagues joining us in our execution of the Roadmap 2025 strategic plan. We expect each of them to enhance our national reputation in research and in the classroom, as well as advance the Wisconsin Idea.”
The new faculty members are:
Yash Babar
Assistant Professor, Department of Operations and Information Management
Babar received his PhD in information and decision sciences from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. His research interests include online and offline interactions across various contexts, online communities, the sharing economy, and technology-based interventions that effect behavioral change.
Ruyun (Ivy) Feng
Assistant Professor, Department of Accounting and Information Systems
Feng holds a PhD in accounting from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland. Her research interests include financial accounting, specifically capital market research, including fundamental analysis and valuation as well as tests of capital market efficiency.
Lu Han
Professor, Department of Real Estate and Urban Land Economics
Prior to joining WSB, Han was a professor and the Premier’s Research Chair in Productivity and Competitiveness at the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto. Her research examines housing market dynamics and risks, the microstructure of real estate markets, incentives and efficiencies in the brokerage industry, housing policies, and international real estate and green amenities. She holds a PhD in economics from Stanford University.
Cheng He
Assistant Professor, Department of Marketing
He holds a PhD in marketing from the Georgia Institute of Technology. His research interests include sustainability, online consumer behavior, and digital marketing.
Sang Byung Seo
Assistant Professor, Department of Finance, Investment, and Banking
Prior to WSB, Seo was an assistant professor of finance at the Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston. His research interests include asset pricing, credit risk, derivatives markets, and financial econometrics. Seo received his MA and PhD in finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Dayin Zhang
Assistant Professor, Department of Real Estate and Urban Land Economics
Zhang received his PhD in finance and real estate from the Haas School of Business, University of California–Berkeley. His research interests include real estate finance, financial intermediation, and fixed income analytics.
