With a diverse business background, Kevin has established himself as a rapid riser at Google, where he develops market strategies for some of company’s most well-known products, including the popular Chrome browser.
“I’ve always had this fascination with tech, and that’s part of the reason I wanted to go to Google,” he says. “My job is a ton of fun because I get to work with engineers, product managers, and developers, thinking about how we put together the best strategy for a given product area.”
Growing up in Onalaska, Wisconsin, Kevin always knew he wanted to attend UW–Madison. Arriving on campus, he immersed himself in both science and business classes, from organic chemistry to operations management. He initially went down the premed track, but was ultimately drawn to the Wisconsin School of Business. “The teachers were incredible and the community was super strong and robust,” he says. “That made me all in on business.”
Before joining Google, Kevin worked in a variety of operations and supply chain roles at AbbVie, including a yearlong stint for the company in Sligo, Ireland.
He credits much of his career success to his willingness to take on anything from seemingly mundane tasks to complex projects at work—and giving each task his all.
“When you work hard and create opportunities for yourself, you’re going to go a long way.”
