About Dan

Daniel Wangerin joined the Wisconsin School of Business faculty in May 2018 as an Associate Professor in the Department of Accounting and Information Systems.

Prior to joining the faculty at UW-Madison, Dan was an Assistant Professor of Accounting and Information Systems at Michigan State University where he taught intermediate financial accounting and financial reporting for MBAs.

His research examines the use and production of accounting information with a focus on the due diligence process in M&A, financial reporting for business combinations, and corporate taxation.

He earned his BBA and MPA from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and his PhD in Accounting from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
